Most computers in hospitals are used by many people so that the agent is spread through the personnel from patient to patient. On conventional keyboards and mice, which are proven to provide only insufficient hygienic features, agents such as the perilous MRSA have a walk-over.

Approx. 95% of all keyboards in hygienic sensitive areas are contaminated. Many bacteria can survive on the keyboards longer than 24 hours.

How exactly does the MEDIGENIC system work?

1. The keyboard has a time controlled LED which draws your attention if cleaning is needed.
2. The user pushes a button to lock the keys.
3. Now the keyboard can be decontaminated with any hospital-approved germicidal spray or wipe. The plane silicon surface can be wiped very easily.
4. The integrated pressure sensor and two liquid sensors notice automatically when the keyboard is wiped.
5. The LED extinguishes
6. Via keystroke the keyboard unlocks and can be used again.
   
   

This feature supports with its intended insistence a continuous and urgently required purification of all keyboards with direct or indirect contact with personnel and patients.

Thereby all parties concerned are better protected against hospital-acquired infections and their severe consequences. If only one case of sanitation, which costs are no longer paid by health insurance can be avoided the purchase of 20 keyboards is amortized.
